I am getting so excited to start our fitness challenge! I am hoping that I am able to figure out this blog as well :)
To prepare I bought a new cookbook, "The Body Rest Diet: Power your Metabolism, Blast Fat, and Shed Pounds in 15 days" by Harley Pasternak. It's mostly smoothies, so I will be sure to share the recipes if they are good! I also got a FitBit so that I can track my activity throughout the day better. I wear a heart rate monitor during my workouts but then sit at my desk all day so I'm interested in seeing what my actual activity is compared to what it should be and hopefully use that information to make some healthy changes.
I'm still working on figuring out what my goal is but once I have it I'll be sure to post it! Now for the last week of fatness....maybe pizza for dinner :)
I'm eating ice cream while typing this :)
ReplyDeleteI have been looking into how to create realistic fitness goals online...I need something very specific to work towards as general "lose weight" or "tone up" is too lose and I am say "I lost 2 pounds so I lost weight!"
I am thinking of a few goals so I figured I would throw them out there in case it helped people thing of theirs
1. Lose Weight: I will come up with a number not sure what is realistic yet
2. Lose Inches in hips and thighs: This I really have no clue so I may just guess at this one.
3. Fitness Goal: Not sure what this will be yet, but somethings may be jog 3 miles, hold plank 1 min without shaking, etc
4. Yoga Goal: Katie gave me this idea, not sure what I want it to be but I want to get a yoga pose, maybe crow. I may just say I will practice crow a certain times a week
5. Food: I dont know if I need a food goal as what I eat will impact my other goals but I may do one as I need structure!
ok, back to my ice cream and dancing with the stars!
I just made a turkey chili...anyone that lives close is welcome to come over tomorrow to eat some!

Ashley, have you setup a myfitnesspal account yet? I put the site as a link on the right-hand site of this blog. We can all friend each other on that site as well as the fitbit site to watch each others progress. I haven't used my fitbit in a while so I need to get back on track with that!
ReplyDeleteSoph I like your ideas of goals. I think that I will have an overall weight loss goal that I will try to reach but throughout that a fitness goal (be able to complete and do well in my duathalon) and then a food goal, using MyFitnessPal to track calories daily and then maybe a fruit/veggie goal each week to just add new things into my diet. AD, I do have a MyFitnessPal account so we can link if you want or just use this blog to do a weekly post on progress.
ReplyDeleteI'm nervous.....and excited!
Hi ladies - so excited :) glad we are not starting until Monday though!! Soph I love the goal outline - this definitely helps - I am still fine tuning my goals but will update them tomorrow. Just excited to get healthy :)
ReplyDeleteOk ladies.. I really really thought about my goals... Soph stealing your format - Here it goes
ReplyDelete1) Lose 5-7 lbs
2) lose 2inches off my hips
3) be able to touch my toes in yoga
4) eat clean- limit the processed food intake
5) personal goal- better work/life balance :)
Ultimate goal- look better than nick in a bathing suit!!! Haha
I'm a little late to this! Sorry work was crazy this week but as I was eating like crap I was getting more excited to actually make this happen. I want to stop complaining about how bad I look and actually do something about it!
ReplyDeleteI just joined the gym this morning and just got back from my first workout!
My goal is to loose 10 pounds and to make the gym part of my regular schedule. I also need to adjust my eating habits, which might include tracking what I eat and trying one new food a week. I like the idea of doing a 5k or something at the end of this, I barely made it to the finish of the last one so I would love to be able to run the whole thing!
